Española Island

It is hard to describe a place like Española Island because regardless of what I say, no physical description could really do justice!

The beautiful turquoise waters of its coastline, the white coralline beach, the endless amount of sea lions laying peacefully waiting to be photographed, the blue-footed boobies, the albatross and the “Christmas marine iguanas,” what can I say about them? All what I can say is that I hope they will be here for a long time, long after my generation is gone, so the future generations can admire the beauty of a pristine ecosystem like no other on earth.

I often like to describe it as a place where the skies meet the seas, and were the unexpected could easily happen. Imagine it as a dream land, where all the species that had arrived through time had adapted quite well and live in perfect harmony.

There is a lot of daily drama going on here: e.g.: predator vs. prey for instance, but that is the way it goes in a pristine area like Española.

Today we visited different sides of the island, all of them giving us wonderful experiences to take back home. We had several comments from guests thinking that we left the best for the end of the trip, but the truth is that what we all have experienced during these seven days is very special, and that every single day has been unique and unforgettable!
