Floreana Island

It was seven in the morning and we were already on our way to visit one of the most interesting spots on this island, the post office bay. It was here where long ago a Captain called James Colnett, established the oldest mailing system in the South Pacific. This morning we decided to pay a tribute to this wonderful idea that is a “must to do thing” when you visit the Galápagos Islands.

After breakfast we dedicated the rest of the morning for our snorkeling activities. The chosen area was Champion Island, and the results were simply fantastic! The visibility of the water gave us many wonderful encounters with the marine wildlife of the region. Sea lions, sharks, rays and sea turtles were some of the sightings, just to mention a few.

The afternoon was relaxing, walking alongside a brackish water lagoon with flamingoes and lots of shore birds.

Days are passing by quickly, but the fun and the unparalleled experience to visit a pristine place like the Galápagos Islands would be unforgettable.
