At Sea into the Adriatic

Today was a day of rest and transition as we left the shores of Sicily last night to sail for the Adriatic Sea lying to the east of Italy. Many people choose to sleep a little longer this morning, as Tom had suggested that we rest up prior to our exciting days ahead. In the late morning Robyn Woodward entertained us with tales of the history of Mediterranean Pirates. There was also ample time to catch up on reading, as well as editing of photos from our previous day's outings. After tea in the afternoon, Carlos Schwantes shared with us some interesting perspectives with his presentation of "The Curious Condition of Eastern Europe." At recap time, our Expedition Leader, Tom O'Brien, gave us a fascinating view of our upcoming experiences in Albania, a truly unusual country that is sure to surprise and charm us in the days ahead. After dinner we returned to the lounge to view a special "laptop gallery" of guest's images from this voyage. It was a splendid review of our voyage, thus far, and a great inspiration for more days of photography ahead along the Dalmatian Coast.
