Floreana Island

This morning, after a delicious breakfast, we went to Champion Island. There we entered the water like Jacques Cousteau and were greeted by playful sea lions. They continuously interrupted our fish viewing with their adorable behavior. We saw numerous schools of tropical fish with breath taking colors, plenty of purple and chocolate sea stars, and the ever present white-tipped reef sharks swimming gracefully along the steep walls of champion. It was very hard to leave the place specially after meeting our new friends “The Galápagos sea lions”.

This afternoon, some guests went kayaking without any unfortunate capsizing incidents. Some of the people decided to stay at the beach and swim, all returned safely to the Islander. During the walking, as the weather was cooling, we first stumbled across a sun bathing sea lioness resting herself on a Lindblad beach towel. As we walked further, we discovered a brackish lagoon full of hot pink flamingos. Continuing on, we stepped on an organic flour beach, which happened to be the main nesting grounds for the black sea turtles. So many turtles were waiting in the breakers for night to fall, when they can safely climb to the dunes to lay their eggs. At the waters edge, the rays were displaying themselves beautifully.

What a wonderful experience in the enchanted islands.
