Plaza Sur and Santa Fe

This morning we woke up full of happiness, because we were nearing the most beautiful island in the world ... South Plaza! After breakfast we had a walk to discover the Opuntia cacti and vegetation that makes up the ecosystem of the island. The most interesting thing was our meeting with the land iguanas near the ocean, not surprised by our presence!

The island’s magic has left us amazed. After we returned to the boat for a conference on the photography of National Geographic, our Naturalist guide Antonio gave us very interesting advice and we were impressed with his sensitivity to nature.

At noon we had a buffet with Peruvian specialties. The octopus was remarkable, and for dessert, we discovered the tomato fruit! Tropical fruit endemic to South America for its good cholesterol.
We spent the afternoon for visiting the oldest of the islands: Santa Fe, and we went in search of the Santa Fe land iguana and of course we found it!

The other interesting species we found was the rat endemic to Santa Fe. They are found in large numbers after the rat eradication program introduced by the pirates.

Our dinner prepared us for the next day and a good sleep.
