Santa Cruz Island

Sweet Puerto Ayora and wonderful Santa Cruz Island! It was a day of Tortoises and land iguanas, both inhabitants of a remote place in the Pacific. It was a warm day with adventures for everybody. Kids had a fantastic time not only learning about the conservation success in the Galápagos, but jumping in and cooling off in the highland pool, surrounded by papaya and grapefruit trees, and lush vegetation. We participated as well in the everyday life of Galápagos citizens, walking along the picturesque streets of this lovely town.

In the afternoon we encountered tortoises in the wild, and many finches and flycatchers. Coming back on board for guava juice and Galápagos music was a wonderful ending to an inspiring day in the second largest island of this enchanted archipelago.
