Bartolomé & Santiago Islands

The trip is almost over, and people who had arrived to the Galápagos seven days ago as complete strangers have integrated as part of a bonded community. We already had many things in common before this trip, that’s why we had ended up in the same archipelago, on board National Geographic Polaris. It was our interest and love for nature, for expeditions, for exotic places, our eagerness for learning and exploration. But as the days passed on, as we shared sightings of dancing boobies and playful sea lions, a deeper, more subtle connection has emerged. We are part of Lindblad family, and of a National Geographic Polaris family. We have laughed and talked and shared among people from different countries, surrounded by the contagious warmth of an Ecuadorian atmosphere.

Climbing the steps of Bartolomé we noticed it, once more. Good friends, laughing and experiencing. Snorkeling around the pinnacle rock, we sensed it again, and on board the glass bottom boat as well. We are part of a Galápagos-Lindblad community now and forever.
