Isla San Francisco, Half Moon Bay & Isla Partida, Ensenada Grande
Today our new scavenger hunt list said to find a succulent, swim with a fish that had bars, find something interesting on the beach, close your eyes and listen (stop walking first), get sand in your bellybutton while taking a picture, find something with black toenails and the best of all, have an inspiration.
It may seem like a daunting list as you rub sleep from your eyes and greet the morning with a cup of coffee or hot chocolate, but once you step into a Zodiac and zip off to shore it becomes easy as pie. Oh, pie, that sounds inspiring, as did the ice cream palettas at lunch or the view from the ridge atop Isla San Francisco. The turtle carapace on the beach had more than a few of us on our tummy capturing images and the Tinkerbelle song of the black-throated sparrow serenaded those that took the time to pause. The sergeant majors and gray bar grunts were our barred snorkel companions, cardon cactus are stately as well as succulent and if you look with your binoculars, you will find that brown pelicans have black toenails. Such observations were eagerly reported by our dedicated scavengers.
Inspiration was captured as a few Haiku today as well, and we share that with you now.
