Epidaurus, Greece
What a beautiful morning to wake up in the picturesque harbor of Epidahavros. It was a nice calm morning where we enjoyed breakfast and then hopped onto the Zodiacs for the quick trip to shore. Once everyone was ashore we boarded our busses to head to the exceptional archeological site of Epidaurus. This ancient site was a five star spa in comparison to today’s hospitals, complete with full baths, a gymnasium and an incredible theater where only the best actors of the times came to perform for the patients.
After an incredible morning and tour, we headed back to the ship for another impressive lunch. It was the perfect fuel for our Panoramics teams to prepare for their final team competition of Greece Jeopardy. The teams were tested on their local Greek myths, geography, minerals and how closely they paid attention to the use of common Greek words. It was an incredible come back for the Athenians, but even better was watching how once again the teams really worked together and showed off their Greek knowledge.
We had the privilege of enjoying our new found Panorama family while swimming for the last time (on this trip) in the Aegean Sea. The water was perfect, the company energetic and the scenery breathtaking; can it really be our last night here?
Snapping back to reality we showered and came upstairs for a Q & A about Greek life in today’s society with Ellie and Stella, celebrated our young Panoramic contestants and then had our final sit down dinner together.
It is hard to believe that our trip has come to an end when it seems like only yesterday we were embarking with cautious eyes and curious minds. It was amazing to watch a new family emerge after just a couple days at sea. We had many laughs, some trying heat, incomparable history, unbelievable food and irreplaceable memories. Thank you all for such an incredible journey.
