Cerro Dragon, Santa Cruz Island

The northern side of Santa Cruz Island showed us a calm face. We started exploring the Venice islet by zodiac and found a lot of white and black tipped reef sharks resting in the calm waters. We also saw some remarkable diamond stingrays and cow nose golden stingrays in an unmistakable display of beauty in these shallow waters.

A group of fellow explorers experienced the area by kayak, having the great company of green sea turtles, gliding by the surface in great numbers.

Snorkeling was an exciting options for all of the guests. Many of the us wanted to experience the harmony of this amazing underwater realm in the company of unreal creatures. Some Galápagos sea lions joined us to play, breaking the barrier between humans and nature.

In the afternoon we explored Cerro Dragon where we found thousands of land iguanas, flamingos and some shore birds. Those on kayaks had a chance to explore both in the morning and in the afternoon, discovering the area at their own pace. There were many options for those eager to enjoy another beautiful part of the Galápagos.
