Dragon Hill, Sta. Cruz Island

It was six o’clock in the morning and we started our adventure by Zodiac through the inside passages of Venice islets, we were just amazed with the landscape and beauty that this place can offer. As we spotted the first land iguanas that inhabit these tiny islands, we went even further into these water channels and enjoyed the scenery.

Right after breakfast we decided to go snorkeling to the nearby Guy Fawkes rock. Before we even got there, we encountered some wildlife: a group of devil’s manta rays that were trying to mate and gave us a spectacular display, swimming around and under our Zodiacs. After that wonderful show we had a great time snorkeling!

In the afternoon we went on “land iguana search”; we went walking through a huge incense-family tree forest, and some Darwin finches and mockingbirds showed up to greet the visitors. The sun’s light was absolutely beautiful and our photography group took wonderful shots of this site. As we began to return, we closed our terrific day with a breathtaking sunset.
