The western part of the Galapagos is the richest in marine life, thanks to the upwellings of a cool current: the Cromwell. We are always anxious to visit, as we constantly discover something unique -- and today was not the exception.

We spotted Bryde's whales, several "mola mola" fish and huge manta rays, like the one in the picture. We all had the chance to see these sea creatures, together with juvenile blue footed boobies and brown noddy terns. And that was only the morning, at Punta Vicente Roca.

In the afternoon there were hundreds of fat marine iguanas and four new nests of flightless cormorants. Isabela and Fernandina are really special islands!
