The best part of of our visit on James Island is the freedom we have to walk around. This is an "open" area, where people are allowed to wander. One can explore the tidal pools or just seat down on a rock and watch the ocean. There are no narrow trails to follow along the coastline, so we all spread and enjoyed in tranquility.
A Galapagos hawk watched us from above. He was also delighting in the sounds of silence.
