Bartolome

The sun is rising, lava lizards are starting to wake up, and a Galapagos Hawk is already at the top of Bartolome tuff cone.

Our guests prepare for a hike of a few hundred steps, but the task is not difficult. A great breeze cools off the air, there are flat platforms to rest on and to enjoy the view, and it is so early that the rocks still keep the low temperature of a fresh night.

Our scuba divers have to get to the top first. Another adventure waits for them after conquering the heights. They will submerge in the deep sea to encounter sharks and turtles. The non-scuba divers will also face different options after the walk: glass bottom boat, snorkeling with penguins and hiking over a sand dune.

So many choices, and all in the morning. It seems as though the afternoon is really far away…
