Floreana Island
We have moved toward the mystery island, the well-known Floreana Island. We spent the whole day enjoying this wonderful place. But what people liked the most was the snorkeling outing along the beautiful cliffs of Champion islet. The site was at its best: great visibility, large schools of tropical fishes, and even a few sightings of pacific green sea turtles. But what kept our attention were, without a doubt, the stars of the island, the Galápagos sea lions. They were all over the place playing with us. We are like toys for them, and they always have a lot of fun when we join them in the water.
In the afternoon we had a nice encounter with greater flamingoes at Punta Cormorant, on the same island. We had good opportunities to photograph these colorful and exotic birds. There were more than thirty of them feeding in the brackish waters of Floreana lagoon. The cinder cone of the island witnessed our happiness after a full filled day spent at the mystery island.
