Santa Cruz Island

All aboard!

After a wonderful day in Puerto Ayora, everybody gets back on board. We have to get everybody’s cabin tags back, as the only way to make sure that our guests don’t surrender to the beauty and the wonders of this island, and decide to stay. I promise you that it was tempting, considering the fantastic sunny morning we encountered, the blue waters, and the incredible cactus forests, not to mention encountering the biggest tortoises on Earth.

After seeing these animals moving their huge bodies while being fed and getting them in the best poses for our pictures, we met other reptiles from the reproduction and repatriation programs of the National Park and the Charles Darwin Research Station.

Today, we also had the chance to observe other human beings – so many of us practiced our shopping abilities before visiting the highlands. The green and lush unique plants were like an exhibition of botany, only interfered by the presence of Galápagos tortoises in the wild. Overall, an amazing afternoon, spider included.
