A lunar eclipse was witnessed by Sea Bird voyagers at a barbecue and bonfire on the beach at Puerto Gato, on the east side of the Baja California peninsula.
Pictured are:
-- a bottlenose dolphin riding the bow of a Zodiac on the way in to the landing at Puerto Gato for afternoon hikes,
-- the earth's shadow beginning to eat away at the full moon, and
-- a bat, possibly the Sea of Cortez endemic fishing bat, flying around at dusk over tidepools at Puerto Gato.
