At "La Entrada" -- the entrance to Magdalena Bay -- dozens of gray whales gather as they go in and out through one of the main acceses of this magnificent bay. Their intense activity, as well as that of many seabirds, reflects the rich oceanographic environment of this very particular site. Here, whales court and mate, while dozens ofmigratory Heermann's Gulls gather in communal flights to their nesting grounds in the Gulf of California. Sheer energy is displayed, only to be temporarily recesed by sunset, and to be resumed at the first lights of the next new day.

In the photo we see a breaching gray whale in the early evening at La Entrada, Magdalena Bay.
