Early in the morning we pulled into Cabo San Lucas after rounding Land's End and crossing into the Sea of Cortez. We spent the morning in port shopping, snorkeling and birding around Cabo. At lunch we got underway in search of "marine-type mammals" in an area known as Gorda Banks to the northeast of Cabo. There was a very cooperative group of common dolphins, followed by numerous humpback whales which made for a fine afternoon.

Third Officer Tom Markwardt located a small group of even more humpbacks that provided a suitable foreground for sunset over the Baja Peninsula.
