Hood River – Columbia River Gorge

Cool morning, waking up near The Dalles
Outside, we were greeted with overcast skies.
Locking our way through the lock at The Dalles Dam
Understanding the Corps of Discovery better, we went to the
Museum – The Columbia Gorge Discovery Center.
Bus rides, on the old Scenic Highway, up to Rowena Crest
Included during the morning some exercise, a hike or –
A stroll through the Mosier tunnels.

Rain, more precipitation on the west side of the Cascades.
Introduces us to new plants, trees, and shrubs.
View of the landscape is quite impressive.
Eager to warm up, we head back to Sea Bird.
Returning after lunch, we are ready for more!

Gift-shop is open, for one last browse
Off to the views of waterfalls, we disembark again.
Roaring water flows violently to the pools, creating a big mist
Good for chance for a photo, or a quick little rinse.
Enjoyment, excitement, a fun and full day.
