After traveling over 400 miles up the Columbia and Snake Rivers, we arrived this morning at Clarkston, Washington. From here, we continued another 50 miles up the Snake River by jet boat, in to Hells Canyon. At this point the Snake forms the border between Idaho and Washington, and, farther upstream, the border between Idaho and Oregon. Keen eyes spotted numerous Rocky Mountain bighorns and mule deer, as well as a variety of migrating birds of prey. A stop at Cache Creek on our trip back downriver offered this lovely view.
