We spent the morning exploring Saginaw Bay on the north shore of Kuiu Island. While some of us went on a long bushwhacking hike to a muskeg bog where we encountered many interesting and lovely wetland plants, others wandered only a few feet from our landing site, examining the myriad strange forms of life in the tidepools there. Almost everyone took advantage of the opportunity to use the sea kayaks to get close to the offshore kelp forests. Two of the naturalists and four guests, including two of our Kids-at-Sea participants, raised their paddles in salute to another beautiful morning.
