Today Southeast Alaska offered us a sampler of all it has to offer. We spent the morning exploring the shoreline of Admiralty Island, finding harbor seals, deer and numerous bald eagles. Then moved to Morris Reef, on the Southeastern shore of Chichagof Island, with a group of 5 lunge-feeding humpback whales.

By afternoon we were able to go ashore on Baranof Island and hike the trail to Lake Eva. The hike took us through beautiful old-growth temperate rainforest to a salmon-spawning stream full of pink salmon. Along the way we found this perfect little Amanita mushroom.
