Glacier Bay National Park
Good morning was announced near South Marble Island.
Looking at birds, from puffins to kittiwakes to jaegers, and
Awaiting our first look at tidewater glaciers.
Clouds that covered the skies blanketed the fjords.
Indulging in the beauty that surrounds us.
Exciting look at a humpback whale later in the morning
Rocks that tell a story, of glaciation and forest ecology.

Books are enjoyed in the lounge. Warming up from the cool breeze outside.
Above in the cliffs, mountain goats are spotted
Yawning… as we get up to catch a peek of the small cream colored dots.

Nature at its finest, we enjoy all day long.
Around the corner we follow,
Traveling up bay towards the tidewater glaciers
Ice, ice, and more ice.
On the ice we could see harbor seals, young and old.
Nosing our way closer, to get a better look,
Awaiting calving at Johns Hopkins glacier. Wow! The wait was worth it.
Lecture on glaciers, presented by geologist Jeff Grover.

Park headquarters located at Bartlett Cove.
Awalk through the forest, to stretch our legs.
Ranger Janene Driscoll, thank you, who provided her knowledge thoughout the day.
Keeping in mind, “what will happen tomorrow?”
