We anchored, and those wishing a short hike boarded Zodiacs for the Sand Dollar Beach of Isla Magdalena. We happened on this tiny flower on the Sea Purslane in the hummocks of the barrier sand dunes. We hiked the quarter mile to the Pacific Ocean from the east side of the island bay.
Back on board, we were treated to our last sightings of Bah¡a Magdalena gray whales before entering the ocean on our way south past 23.5 degrees north latitude, the Tropic of Cancer. The last treat of the day was turning nonbelievers into believers as we watched the "green flash."
