Flared whale nostrils, followed by California gray whale breath, and many flukes, then the whole process starts again as Zodiacs from the Sea Lion watched gray whales in Magdalena Bay from sunrise to sunset!!!
Just before sunrise four Zodiacs full of guests set out for a protected section of Magdalena Bay in search of a group of gray whales. We were instantly rewarded with many great views; some from a distance and some very close views accompanied by the sound of whales exhaling and inhaling enough air to continue their day of whale activities.
The gray whales' natural curiosity took them under our boats, near all sides of the Zodiacs and all around; close and near in the early morning light -- all the way until the last green flash of the setting sun!!!
