This afternoon the Sea Lion stopped at Los Islotes, a haul out area for California sea lions and bird rookery. Zodiacs were lowered and our guests boarded them to spend an hour traveling slowly along the lee side of this small pile of volcanic tuft.
We saw female and male sea lions in a variety of sizes, colors and ages. The juvenile sea lions played with the Zodiacs, zooming back, forth and around -- much to everyone's enjoyment.
The sun had nearly set by the time all Zodiacs had returned to the Sea Lion, at the same time as many species of birds were also roosting for the night.
