Punta Colorada and Puerto Gato

We left behind the Pacific Sea, and the Sea Lion made its way into the Sea of Cortes. The sun rose when we were at the east side of Isla San Jose in this beautiful red point called Punta Colorada. As the sun was coming up, we could see the sunrays reflected in this big red wall. The morning went by and after a short, long, or medium hike in the arroyo of Isla San Jose, we went out for an excellent snorkel. On a beautiful sunny day, the water felt refreshing and we saw lots of colorful fish such as the angelfish, triggerfish, parrotfish, blue and gold snappers, sergeant majors, a stingray and a scorpion fish.

We lifted the hook, and continued our exploration north in the Sea of Cortes, spotting whales off in the distance as we cruised to our next destination. We arrived at Puerto Gato in the Peninsula of Baja California to spend our afternoon. In this beautiful sandy beach we snorkeled for a while, enjoying especially the chocolate chip starfish and balloon fish. At the same beautiful beach, the kayakers had lots of fun making their own way in the sea.

As the sun set, we all made our way back to the beach for a barbeque. The food was excellent and the company enjoyable. Another day in paradise, we were singing at the campfire accompanied by a guitar, enjoying the starry sky…thinking what other wonderful things this sea has waiting for us.
