The inner harbor of Victoria was ablaze with reflective light as our day in this colorful British Columbia capital came to an end. The domed Parliament Buildings (shown here), the Royal British Columbia Museum and the grand old Empress Hotel were our afternoon destinations.

The morning had been spent in the sunny, cool and immaculate Butchart Gardens, marveling at their color and design. (And how many of us secretely wished we had been blessed with the green thumb, patience and perseverance to be able to match just a little bit of this beauty at home?)

This had been another exceptional September day, ending with a quiet dinner at dockside and an evening stroll among shops and street entertainers.
