One of the delightful features of traveling on the Sea Lion is that you have so many options. Here on the Palouse River, kayaking glassy water along a quiet shoreline is one. Nature watching from a Zodiac below rimrocks on either side of the river is another. Looking down on Palouse Falls from high atop a rock cliff is a third.

This can only be capped by returning to the ship for an afternoon barbecue as we travel down the Snake River. Moments of contemplation about the landforms we have seen, and the processes in nature that made them this way, are interspersed with rich conversation among the fine people who travel with us.

What more could we ask for options? Why, of course, a full moon this evening reflecting on our magnificent river.
