Bona & Otoque Islands, Bay of Panama, Panama
The morning broke while the Sea Voyager was repositioning to the Otoque Islands. Several brown boobies decided to fly close to the vessel, showing us their amazing flying skills. We reached Otoque under a beautiful sky. At mid morning we launched two outings with the Zodiacs in order to visit the Estiva and Bona Islands. They represent an important nesting site for thousands of seabirds. At this bird rookery, we were able to enjoy the harmonious flight of hundreds of magnificent frigate birds, as well as nests of brown boobies and blue-footed boobies.
Before noon we departed from the Otoque Islands while at a distance the array of dugout canoes were waving us goodbye on the crystal clear waters of these paradisiacal spot. Three ours later, we finally reached the inner side of the Panama Bay, where the modern city of Panama is located and it shows a very impressive sky line.
The colossal bridge of the Americas guards the southern entrance of the Panama Canal, where we began our crossing with the multicolor tones of our last sunset in the Pacific.
