Today we arrived at the island of Genovesa and the expedition could not end in a better place.  The small island offered us a great finale with two outstanding visitor sites- Darwin Bay and Prince Phillip’s Steps. These locations have the best areas in the Galapagos Islands for the observation of the red footed booby. Early in the morning we started kayaking around the inner side of the island and after breakfast we disembarked at Darwin Bay and walked on a white coralline sand beach.

The nests of Nazca boobies, swallow-tail gulls, frigate birds and red footed-boobies were everywhere! All explorers were very impressed by their beauty, as all the nests were so close to the trail.

In the afternoon, we climbed to the top of the cliff using Prince Phillips steps and discovered a palo santo forest with hundreds of nesting areas within it. We also looked for the short eared owl, the largest predator of the island. At the end of the day we enjoyed the most spectacular sunset, a perfect way to finish our last day in paradise.
