Today is our last day in the Galapagos and we have reached the northern hemisphere. Just when they thought they’ve seen it all, here is Genovesa Island, the home for thousands of seabirds.

We started the day with a wet landing at Darwin Bay where we saw a coralline beach from the distance and once we reached the site, we were suddenly surrounded by many, many sea birds. We saw frigate birds, swallow tailed gulls, and the long awaited red footed booby.

After our visit in the morning we had water activities like kayaking and snorkeling. Back onboard for lunch and our departure briefing, we finally had our Global Explorer Score Report.

In the afternoon we disembarked at Prince Phillips steps where after a mile and a half we were able to spot an elusive short eared owl. Today we were very lucky for we had them very close and hardly concealed. We also were surrounded by Nazca boobies and frigate birds.

Back onboard we watched the sun set again, except this time we were navigating with guests who were once strangers and now are one family. A family that shared this wonderful experience and time of coexistence, care, and love for one another.
