The day on Genovesa Island started with a Zodiac ride through the turquoise waters, offering us a close look at the island’s rich wildlife. The sky was clear, and the sound of the waves mixed with the calls of seabirds, like red-footed boobies, Nazca boobies, and frigatebirds, soaring overhead. On the nearby rocks, Galapagos fur seals soaked up the sun, while some dove into the water, enjoying the waves.

The highlight of the day was crossing the equator during sunset, a symbolic moment that made us feel the vastness of nature and the geography as we sailed deeper into this remote, natural paradise.
