On our first day in Costa Rica we visited the Golfo Dulce area. Inside of Golfo Dulce we stopped at the fabulous Casa Orquideas botanical garden, walking on the perfectly manicured trails, we experience first-hand the diversity that the tropics can offer. Flowers of all colors, fruits of all shapes, spices, and many birds, such as the spectacular scarlet macaws.
For the afternoon, we visited by expedition landing craft and kayak, the mangrove forest of Golfito, to learn about this important ecosystem and how it creates and protects the coastline.
