We spent a wonderful day on Graciosa, nicknamed Ilha Branca — the 'White Island' — for its unique light-coloured landscapes and architecture. Our guests had a difficult choice between a scenic tour of the island and two breathtaking hikes. One took us around Caldeira de Graciosa and the other to the beautiful Baía da Folga.

The island tour took us to the picturesque town of Santa Cruz de Graciosa and through the island's vineyards. We ventured to the oldest lighthouse in the archipelago and enjoyed fabulous views of Whale Islet, or Ilhéu da Baleia.

To earn our lunch, we climbed almost 200 steps up and down to the Furna do Enxofre, a cave with a fumarole field inside. We also had the chance to taste queijadas das Graciosa, the island's delicious sweet.
