This morning we woke up aboard National Geographic Venture anchored near the town of Klemtu. Located in the heart of the Great Bear Rainforest, it is home to the First Nation people of Kitasoo Xai’Xais. We rode Zodiacs to the shore in front of the Big House, an important place of cultural learning and revitalization.

We spent the afternoon cruising the gorgeous waterways of the Great Bear Rainforest in search of wildlife. It was a fruitful day, as we encountered killer whales, humpback whales, and a black bear.

We could not have asked for a better day here in British Columbia. We finished our evening aboard National Geographic Venture with a recap of the day and dinner. We’re looking forward to see what tomorrow will bring us!
