The city of Haines is often referred to as the adventure capital of Alaska. Today we had a warm, sunny day of crisp blue sky that offered arresting vantages of the mountain-scape surrounding this small town. Many of our guests took full advantage of this incredible weather and flew over Glacier Bay National Park. Others hiked, biked, and trekked about town, finding the local bars, restaurants, and shops.
Visitation to the Klukwan Traditional Knowledge Camp and Museum saw high attendance also, where we were treated to a traditional dance performance in full regalia and a guided tour of the museum and whaling artifacts.
Rafting was the second half of this adventure. Able raft operators paddled us out along the Chilkat River, bringing incredible scenery of the surrounding river valley and bald eagle preserve.
