A cloudy morning slowly burned into a bright and delightful day that revealed the glacier-carved fjord of Haines, our destination. Guests experienced the landscape of what’s known as the adventure capital of Southeast Alaska in many ways—naturalist-led explorations of the Chilkat River, a visit to a bald eagle preserve, Mount Riley, Battery Point, Chilkoot Lake, and many other local hotspots. Guests explored the Hammer Museum and then enjoyed some local beverages at the Haines brewery and Port Chilkoot distillery. After dinner, we cruised past the Eldred Rock Lighthouse for a photo opportunity and concluded another fantastic day in beautiful Southeast Alaska.
