This morning we woke up near Ideal Cove on Mitkof island. We all disembarked National Geographic Sea Lion for a variety of hiking options. This particular location offered an excellent boardwalk hike through the forest. This was our first experience exploring this beautiful temperate rainforest that comprises so much of Southeast Alaska.

In the afternoon, we cruised over to the small fishing town of Petersburg where we had a number of afternoon activities including flightseeing, muskeg walks, a photo walk, bicycle tours, and free time to explore. For dinner, we had the highly anticipated crab night and the ship brought on fresh, local caught Dungeness crab for an all-you-can-eat feast!
