This morning found us in the Inian Islands with some authentic Southeast Alaska weather – we finally got wet! We started our day in the expedition landing craft exploring the dynamic incoming tide. We saw many playful stellar sea lions, some tolerant sea otters, an array of sea birds and some lucky travelers got up close and personal with a humpback whale. Our young explorers also had the opportunity to join our undersea specialists for a plankton tow.

Later in the afternoon we repositioned to a beautiful area called Fox Creek where the rain stopped, the sun came out and we enjoyed a few hours of exploration on land and in the kayaks.
