There were patches of blue sky and sunshine to greet us on the last day of our expedition. A few guests took a morning walk and basked in the delicious morning light.

We then headed across to the Isle of Skye, and during the morning, we visited the ruins of Armadale Castle and walked around the lovely gardens and museum. We returned to the ship at mid-day with beaming smiles and livelier chatter. It is remarkable what a morning of sun and blue skies does to our demeanor.

During lunch, we headed for Kyle of Lochalsh, our last port of call. For the afternoon, we boarded our coach and all headed for Eilean Donan Castle, one of the most photographed in Scotland and figured in many movies. It is a stunning castle, and its location is formidable. Once inside, we soaked in its rich and long history. Afterwards, some enjoyed some last-minute shopping in a lovely gift shop.

On our way back, with some time in our pockets, we crossed the bridge over to Skye and looked out to the ruins of Mora Castle.
