We started very early with the sunrise and the calls of the birds, exploring the gorgeous Iquitos Caño (a small tributary) in our skiffs. Later in the morning we went on an introductory hike in the varzea forest, with a different perspective. Using hanging bridges, we explored the canopy, an area usually out of reach for us land based beings. In the afternoon, after our ‘mandatory’ siesta time, a shaman ceremony and even some world cup football, we boarded skiffs again to explore a black water tributary of the Marañón River in search of wildlife.
