The morning started with a sunny and pleasant walk around Urbina Bay. Penguins, flightless cormorants, blue-footed boobies, and brown pelicans were feeding in the shallow waters on the beach. We went ashore to look for land iguanas and had our first encounter with a Galapagos giant tortoise. We saw three Galapagos hawks wandering around the trees and observed countless finches, flying around and feeding after an apparent rain.

In the afternoon, we explored Tagus Cove with kayaks, snorkels, Zodiac tours, and an invigorating walk up the slopes of Darwin Volcano. After this busy day, a sea lion was waiting for us by the entrance to our ship. It was the best way to end a beautiful day!
