Isabela is the largest island of the Galapagos Archipelago, making up 58% of the Galapagos Islands total land mass. This morning, we visited Urbina Bay, where our guests enjoyed walking alongside Galapagos giant tortoises from Alcedo Volcano, and male yellow land iguanas. After this warm walk, everyone was ready for swimming off the beach with Pacific green sea turtles. The rest of the day we had multiple activity options, including as kayaking with sea lions, paddle-boarding while we spotted sharks and snorkeling with fast swimming penguins and cormorants—yes you read that right, Galapagos swimming flightless cormorants.
We sailed to Tagus Cove where we went kayaking, paddle-boarding and Zodiac cruising along the shore. Here we spotted Galapagos penguins, flightless cormorants, and Pacific green sea turtles. We also hiked up to Tagus Cove to enjoy the view on top of Darwin Lake. It was a wonderful day aboard the National Geographic Endeavour II.
