Possibly my favorite day on Jahan commences with an early morning traditional ox-cart ride through the quaint rural town of Kampog Tralach. This journey took us through rice paddies and lotus flower fields before ending at a local primary school – the ‘Green School,’ where we were all greeted and entertained by over 30 smiling children. It was an exhilarating, and thoroughly enjoyable morning.

After lunch we landed at a larger rural village – Kampong Chhnang – and travelled in small vans to a farming community that specialised in making clay pots that are essential to people from all over country, and learned about harvesting sugar from the large palm trees that dot the local landscape. Before we got back on-board Jahan, we took a trip in local bots past the fascinating floating village of Vietnamese immigrants.
