This morning, we rose early to a soft breeze as National Geographic Orion anchored off Komodo National Park. After stepping ashore, we embarked on a hike through arid terrain, soon encountering the park's legendary residents, Komodo dragons. These massive reptiles moved with slow, deliberate power, and witnessing them in their natural habitat was thrilling.
After a delicious brunch back on board, we spent the afternoon at Pink Beach. Snorkeling in the warm, clear water revealed vibrant coral reefs teeming with life. The highlight was a curious cuttlefish, her skin a kaleidoscope of shifting colors and textures as she carefully tended to her eggs.
