Today was our second day aboard National Geographic Sea Cloud, and the boat felt familiar already. The day was sunny and warm, and with a bit of wind, we were lucky to see the crew on the sail stations again.

Our morning was dedicated to history lessons during which we heard a bit about the modern history of Croatia from a local cultural specialist. Lindblad Expeditions historian Rebecca Ingram gave a lecture on the Venetian maritime empire, which was a great introduction to our afternoon visit to the island of Korčula.

In the town of Korčula, we strolled the narrow streets of the small medieval town, enjoying the light breeze coming through the curvy alleys. We visited the Museum of Icons and the cathedral and later attended a traditional Moreška sword dance performance—the only dance of its kind in Europe.
