It’s out last day sailing the Greek Isles, and we couldn’t ask for better weather. We woke up to a beautiful sunrise, which was much welcomed after a few days of turbulent weather earlier in the week. After early morning tea and coffee and a delicious breakfast, Sea Cloud anchored at the island of Kythnos. We shuttled over to the island via Zodiac where some of us enjoyed a lazy morning on the beach, while others stretched their legs by walking the dirt road leading up the hillside with great views overlooking the bay and the Sea Cloud. After a week of sailing the Greek Cyclades, we were all happy to dip our toes in the delightful Mediterranean waters.

Once back on board, we gather for lunch and enjoy yet another spectacular Sea Cloud feast on the lido deck. The food on the ship is second to none, and today we have the famous Sea Cloud parmesan cheese pasta wheel—a 50 pound block of delicious cheese that the pasta is poured into after boiling, melting the cheese directly onto the noodles. Once we all have our fill, the crew hits the rigging and sets sail for the last time of the trip. Photographers scramble around the decks to get amazing shots of the sailors aloft, an amazing feat of dexterity and skill as they prepare the sails.

With calm seas and little wind, it is the perfect opportunity to launch the Zodiacs and take guests around the ship for views of Sea Cloud under sail. This is the first time we lay eyes on the ship under full sail from an outsider perspective, and her beauty is unrivaled. Once we finish with Zodiac operations, photographic instructor Max Seigal is cleared to fly the drone and take aerial photos and video of the ship under sail. This is the first ever opportunity to fly a drone around the ship, and everybody joins on deck to watch the operations. The flights are a success and the footage turns out beautifully.

After a relaxed afternoon on deck, we reconvene on the lido deck for the Captain’s Farewell Cocktail party, followed by the farewell dinner. It’s been an absolute delight sailing through the Greek Cyclades on Sea Cloud, an experience none of us will ever forget.
