A better way to get to know Baja California was never thought of before. We anchored this morning off of San Ignacio Lagoon. One of the legendary breeding and calving ground for the California gray whale. The weather, wind, and whales were more then cooperative today. Three rounds of tours went out to view these magnificent creatures at close range. Better whale watching can not be had anywhere else. The animals are usually no more then 50 feet from our small local-operated Panga boats. Occasionally the young calf whales will swim right up to the boats and more then once we observed a mother whale actually lifting her young up to the boats, as eager human hands reached out to splash and actually young a wild whale! One this day, lives were changed.
